Waitress.
HOW OLD WERE YOU WHEN YOU RECEIVED YOUR FIRST PAYCHECK AND HOW DID YOU SPEND IT?
15 years old and I spent the entire amount on clothes.
WHAT WAS THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU EVER RECEIVED?
When you start a new job, work very hard and be very helpful, productive and efficient for at least the first 3 months (you can taper down after that) – you only have once to make a good first impression.
WHAT LED YOU TO BECOME A COMMERCIAL LAWYER?
My father-in-law was my initial inspiration to pursue law, which led me to start out as a litigator after I completed articles. Learning about my husband’s corporate and commercial law practice ultimately shifted my focus, resulting in me specialising in commercial and corporate law.
WHAT IS SOMETHING ABOUT YOU THAT PEOPLE DON’T KNOW?
People are surprised to learn I completed the TransBaviaans 230km cycle race, especially since I’m not an athlete at all!
WHAT DO YOU DO TO UNWIND?
I exercise, read, watch Netflix-series, and socialise with my friends. However, my best thing to do to unwind is to travel.

Both (although I’m probably slightly biased towards cats)

4×4 trip in northern Namibia and Botswana.
